Keith Schall
Keith Schall's work combines expressionism and conceptualism, using two sides of the human psyche -- emotion and intellect.
He was a professor of British Literature for many years before turning to canvas. His works are abstract with themes from literature, myth and jazz: Literature because of his background as a professor, myth because it involves broadly human experience, and jazz because of its spontaneity and energy.
He paints off the edge of the canvas adding sculptural space with pieces of wood. He calls his work "metapaintings," or art about art.
